Cambridge sign Sheff Utd defender Curtis on loan

Cambridge United have signed Sheffield United defender Sam Curtis on a season-long loan.

The 20-year-old has featured just twice for the Blades' first team since moving to Bramall Lane from Irish Premier Division side St Patrick's Athletic in January 2024.

This will be the Republic of Ireland Under-21 international's fourth loan move since joining the Championshipship club, having featured for Chesterfield last season after spells with Peterborough United and Scottish side St Johnstone before that.

Curtis joins a Cambridge side that has yo-yoed back into League One after immediately earning promotion from League Two after being relegated from the third tier in 2025.
