Scotland lose to Uganda in netballers final group game

Scotland failed to build on their spirited showing against Jamaica in their final group game, losing to Uganda and missing the chance to finish third.

The Thistles went agonisingly close to recording the biggest netball upset of these Commonwealth Games in a two-point tussle with 2022 silver medallists Jamaica on Wednesday, and would have hoped to go one step further on Thursday.

But their incredible effort against the Jamaicans appeared to take their tole as the The She Cranes controlled the first half and lead 36-22 at the midway point.

But, the Scots rallied and finished strongly - tying the third quarter and winning the last 18-13 - though lost 65-56 in their last Group B game.

Having already secured their highest finish at a Commonwealth Games, the Thistles will go again in their final match, a play-off for seventh place against Malawi on Friday.
