Flying the Nest

Donald Macleod and Sally Beamish delve into her student years, travels and early professional career.

Donald Macleod joins Sally Beamish at her home on the south coast as she recalls leaving London for Manchester, studying at the Royal Northern College of Music and beginning life as a professional musician. From her growing love of the viola to studies in Germany and a flourishing career in chamber music, Beamish reflects on the experiences that shaped her artistic identity.
