Prince George to start at new school

Starting a new school can feel exciting, strange and perhaps a little scary too. There are new teachers to meet, classrooms to find and new names to remember.
Prince George is facing many of those same experiences as he starts at Eton College in Berkshire on Tuesday.
What might be different to some of you going back to school is that Eton is a private boarding school for boys, so Prince George will live there during term time as well.
Prince George is following in the footsteps of his father, Prince William, and uncle Prince Harry, who both also attended Eton as young boys.

Who is Prince George?
George, who is 13, is the oldest child of Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales.
He is second in line to the throne, behind his father. This means that, under the current order, William is expected to become king after King Charles III, with George next after him.
Prince William also started at Eton when he was 13. Looking back on his time there, he said previously that he "really enjoyed being able to go about Eton as just another student."

Celebrities and politicians have also attended Eton. Marvel actor Tom Hiddleston went to the school, as well as former prime minister Boris Johnson.
George will have his own bedroom in one of Eton's 25 boarding houses. Around 55 pupils live in each house, where members of staff look after them.
Melanie Sanderson, the school guide's managing editor, said Eton has "spectacular facilities and spacious grounds".

Pupils at Eton usually get opportunities to return home every two or three weeks, as well as during longer school holidays.
The move follows George's time at Lambrook, a school near Windsor that he attended with his younger sister, Princess Charlotte, and brother, Prince Louis. His new school is still close to his family's home.
