Team Wales announce arrival at Commonwealth Gamespublished at 21:25 BST
Image source, Getty ImagesAfter King Charles and Queen Camilla and Scottish cycling legend Sir Chris Hoy stepped out of the Tardis at the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, it was Team Wales' turn to take centre stage.
The squad marched into the stadium second from last, just before hosts Scotland.
Boxer Rosie Eccles had the honour of flying the flag, while bowler Daniel Salmon was the baton bearer, the two reigning Commonwealth Games champions rightly handed the accolade.
The uniforms consisted of official Team Wales tartan that was registered in Scotland using the Team Scotland Blue from their official tartan. The team were also wearing custom pin badges, designed by Clogau.
For the first time in Commonwealth Games history, the athletes took centre stage before formalities kick in.
