Former winners of the FIA Karting European Championship title include reigning Formula 1 world champion Lando Norris, as well as fellow F1 drivers George Russell, Alex Albon and Kimi Antonelli.

"Seeing some of the world's best young drivers competing at such an iconic venue will be something special," said Dan Parker, head of karting at Motorsport UK.

"We're looking forward to working with Silverstone and the FIA to deliver a memorable event that inspires more young people and families to discover karting and the opportunities it offers."

Silverstone's karting track includes a section of the Bridge corner that was part of its Formula 1 layout between 1991 and 2009.

Stuart Pringle, Silverstone's CEO, said the event would provide "emerging racers from Britain and beyond the chance to compete at the home of British motorsport."
