Araujo undergoes thigh surgery

Bournemouth right-back Julian Araujo has undergone surgery on his left thigh after sustaining a muscle injury on the club's pre-season tour in Austria.

The Mexico international, who was forced off during the Cherries opening friendly against St. Pauli, is expected to be sidelined for several months.

Araujo signed from Barcelona in 2024 and has made 14 appearances in all competitions.

In a statement, Bournemouth said: "All at the club extend their best wishes to Julian and look forward to him making a full recovery."
