Exeter City have signed winger Gwion Edwards on a one-year deal from National League North side Morecambe.

The 33-year-old is the first permanent signing for the Grecians since their relegation to League Two in May.

Edwards has over played over 450 EFL matches for clubs including Crawley, Peterborough, Ipswich and Sheffield Wednesday.

His spell with the Shrimps saw him score 12 goals in 85 appearances.

"He brings a wealth of experience and has enjoyed a remarkable journey throughout his career," Grecians boss Matt Taylor said.

"I want players who are eager to join us, embrace what we're building and are hungry for success. Gwion will be an important part of our senior group moving forward."

Edwards will officially join the club on 1 July and the deal also includes an option to extend the contract by a further year.
