Middlesbrough have signed Manchester United goalkeeper Radek Vitek for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old Czech spent last season on loan in the Championship with Bristol City and made 41 league appearances.

He is the seventh player to join Boro, who started the campaign with a 1-0 win over Wrexham in the Carabao Cup on Friday, this summer.

"The project here is very impressive, because you can clearly see the ambition and where the club wants to go," he told the club website., external

"The mission is clear: to go to the Premier League. I think everyone at the club has that mindset, and I want the same thing."

Vitek could make his debut for the Teessiders in their Championship opener at home to promoted Lincoln City next Saturday.

Middlesbrough have not disclosed the length of contract he has signed.
