The 'Invisible man' behind Michael Jackson's hits

Secret Lincolnshire

Available for over a year

Michael Jackson was one of the most successful recording artists of the 20th Century - and some of his biggest hits were composed by a musician and songwriter from Cleethorpes. Rod Temperton had several hits with funk band Heatwave, which attracted the attention of legendary producer Quincy Jones and led to him writing songs for Jackson including Rock with you, Off the wall and Thriller, along with hits for many other artists. Ten years after Rod's death in 2016 and with a Michael Jackson biopic being released, Karl Bird explores the legacy of the 'Invisible man' who wrote his way into pop music history. Produced and narrated by Karl Bird. Image: Getty.
