The Make a Difference Awards shine a light on the everyday heroes in our communities - the volunteers, fundraisers, good neighbours, young people and community groups whose kindness, courage and dedication improve the lives of others.

Join us for an uplifting celebration filled with inspiring stories, wonderful local people and unforgettable moments. It’s an opportunity to recognise their achievements, say a heartfelt thank you and discover the incredible difference being made across our area every day.

The Award Categories

The Volunteer Award

Celebrating an individual who gives their time freely to help others and makes a remarkable difference within their community.

The Young Hero Award

Recognising an inspiring individual or group of young people under 16 who have made a positive impact in their community or achieved something exceptional.

The Great Neighbour Award

Celebrating someone whose kindness and support make their neighbourhood a better place to live or work - whether through regular help or one extraordinary act.

The Active Award

Recognising an individual or group using sport or physical activity to improve people’s health, happiness or quality of life.

The Animal Award

Celebrating either a remarkable animal that improves people’s lives, or an individual or group dedicated to improving animal welfare.

The Environmental Award

Recognising an individual or group working to protect, conserve or improve their local environment.

The Fundraiser Award

Celebrating an individual or group that has gone the extra mile to raise money for a cause close to their heart.

The Community Group Award

Recognising a group whose commitment, compassion and hard work have helped to transform the lives of people in their community.

Make A Difference Awards

How to be in the audience

Step 1: Apply for tickets

Tickets for this show are being allocated on a first-come first-served basis, so when we receive your ticket request your details are added to the list of applicants. Tickets are usually dispatched from approximately three weeks ahead of the recording date.

Step 2: Receive a message

All eligible requests are allocated tickets in the order they are received, up to the maximum number of available tickets. If successful, we notify you by text message and send your e-ticket(s) to your email address. If unsuccessful you will be kept on the waiting list in case anyone cancels their tickets.

Step 3: Bring your tickets and ID

We do our best to get the numbers right, but unfortunately we occasionally have to disappoint people. Remember that every guest must bring original approved photo ID.
