999 call: Help! I bought a non-alcoholic G&T
Hertfordshire Police are urging the public to only dial 999 in an emergency. Other recent frivolous calls to the service included dialling 999 to ask about taxi services, what time it is and even reporting that the timer on their microwave was not working. Herts Police say such calls take up the time of call handlers who could be helping someone in genuine need.
