How Southwell welcomed an evacuee from Afghanistan
Pervin Juma and her family were evacuated from Kabul in Afghanistan in 2021. They spent some time in hotels before being offered a home to rent in Southwell.
When they arrived, the town threw them a welcoming party, led primarily by Gill Wright, who Pervin now calls her "English grandma".
After settling in Nottinghamshire, Pervin is now studying nursing.
Sparky goes through their story and speaks to Pervin and Gill about their experiences.
