A 48-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an attempted robbery at a bank in Holt in Norfolk.
Police said a man, who appeared to have a gun, threatened staff and demanded money at TSB in the High Street at 15:00 BST on Thursday.
He fled empty-handed after a cashier refused to give him anything.
Police said a man, from the north Norfolk area, was arrested shortly after 17:00 BST after he handed himself in at Norwich police station.
He is in police custody awaiting interview.
